Embracing Black Friday
We're on Black Friday. It has rapidly arrived...In Spain. And it's full of crazy bargain hunting-shoppers in the American version. What makes this more ridiculous and funny? Spanish, and British or French don't celebrate Thanksgiving. And, until recently they didn't celebrate Black Friday either. There was only a small group of Spaniards (me and some others) who were aware. Please enter Amazon. But this year, European consumers who for years had thrill-watched American Black Friday shoppers on Youtube knew exactly what to do. In some stores customers were also trampled in the rush to get deals.
Personally, I 'm not avoiding the D-day. Today, on saturday I have walked through the Calle Serrano street and saw plenty of discounts: one more sounds more interesting than others but I'm not in the States and not seeing the 70%-80% deals but I'm embracing Black Friday enthusiastically. Even through it is an American thing it's not bad to have it in Spain, it's a trend and like all trends it's going to take a while to take hold....
